The 28th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference (IVNC 2015) was held at Guangdong Yingbin Hotel, Guangzhou, from July 13rd to 17th with great success. The conference was organized by the State Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Technologies, Sun Yat-sen University. The IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) and the American Vacuum Society are the technical sponsors. The Chairwoman of the IVNC 2015 is Prof. Shaozhi Deng from Sun Yat-sen University. 109 participants from 19 countries and regions attended the conference.

The topics of the IVNC 2015 included theory, fabrication, characterization of vacuum micro/nano-electronic emitters and devices, new materials for field emission, and application of vacuum micro/nano-electronics. 126 scientific papers were presented in the conference, consisted of 3 plenary talks, 6 invited talks, 38 contributed talks, and 79 poster presentations. All papers were collected in the conference proceeding. The Plenary Talks were given by Prof. Ningsheng Xu (Fudan University in China), Prof. S. T.
