Biography

Cheol Jin Lee received a BS, a MS and a Ph. D. degree at the School of Electrical Engineering from Korea University in 1982, 1984 and 1993 respectively. He worked at Semiconductor R&D Institute of Samsung Electronics as a senior researcher for 10 years, and had developed memory devices such as 64K DRAM, 256K DRAM, 1M DRAM, 4M DRAM and 16M DRAM. Since 2005, he joined with a faculty at Korea University in Seoul Korea and have been a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering. In 2022, he founded a company “LuminaX” for commercializng cold cathode X-ray tubes and has worked as CEO. His research interests are mainly in field electron emission phenomena, field electron emitters, vacuum nanoelectronic devices and cold cathode X-ray tubes. In addition, his research interests are extended to synthesis, characterization and electical property control of carbon nanotubes and graphene. He published more than 200 scietific articles and enrolled 22 international patents and 60 domestic patents. In 2012, he chaired the 25th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference in Jeju Korea.
