Biography

Ebrahim Forati received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran, in 2006 and 2009, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM), Milwaukee, WI, USA, in 2014. His work at UWM was focused on wire medium metamaterials and surface plasmons on graphene. In 2014, he joined the Applied Electromagnetics group at University of California San Diego, as a postdoc, where he performed research on physics of microplasmas and their interaction with laser, nanofabrication,  and photoemission from metals. His research in the Applied Electromagnetics group led to the first demonstration of a photomession-based microelectronic device.  Since 2016, he joined TDK USA Co. where he is working on lasers and detectors for the LiDAR application.
