Biography

He received his Ph.D. in 2006 from Waseda University in Japan. From 2007 to 2010 he worked at the University of Zurich with fellowships from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science and the Nishina Memorial Foundation. Between 2010 and 2014, he was an independent researcher for an Ambizione project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation. In 2015 he was given a position as a research professor at the Max-Planck-Postech/Korea Center in Korea and has been working as a guest researcher at the Max-Planck Institute of Quantum Optics in Munich. In 2018 he became a project leader supported by DFG project funding and is currently working at Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich. He has received awards from several international conferences and a foundation, including a Young Scientist Award at the 24th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference and a Kazato Research Encouragement Prize in 2011. His research interests are in the fields of ultrafast electron emissions from nanostructures and their ultrafast electron dynamics.
