Biography
Ho Bun Chan received his PhD in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1999. For his postdoctoral research, he went to Bell Laboratory, Lucent Technologies where he began investigating Casimir forces in micromechanical systems. In 2004, he joined the department of physics at the University of Florida as assistant professor and became associate professor in 2009. In 2010, he moved to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research interests include Casimir forces and the interplay between fluctuations and nonlinear effects in micromechanical systems.
