Biography

Christopher (Chris) Holland is a senior program manager at SRI International where he directs the development of micro and nano systems. During his 42-year tenure at SRI, Mr. Holland has been engaged in the research and development of a wide range of MEMS (Micro-Electro Mechanical Systems) devices including field emission Spindt cathodes, microfabricated field ion sources, microwave amplifiers, flat-panel displays, neutron generators, biosensors, microfluidics, microsensors, microplasmas, microthrusters and photonic integrated circuits. Mr. Holland also has a vast experience in all aspects of MEMs device processing including physical vapor deposition, plasma assisted deposition, plasma assisted etching, photo and electron beam lithography, and microelectronic materials and device characterization. Mr. Holland has a BS degree in Physics from the University of Redlands and an advanced degree in Applied Physics from Stanford University. He has authored or coauthored over 30 publications in technical journals and 13 US patents. In 2010, he organized the 23rd IVNC in Palo Alto, California. He presently is the chairman of the International Steering Committee (ICS) for IVNC.
