Travel to Kyoto

Kyoto is located in the central part of Honshu-island, and is accessible from major airports in Japan.
The nearest international airport to Kyoto is Kansai International Airport (KIX).
Alternatively, you can fly to Tokyo or Nagoya and use domestic transport to travel to Kyoto.

  • Kansai International Airport (KIX)
    The nearest international airport to Kyoto.
    90-120 min. by limousine bus, or 75 min. by express train.
    A shared taxi van is available (90-120 min., reservation needed).
  • Fly to Tokyo
    International flights are available to Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) or Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND).
    You can use domestic flight to Osaka (ITM), or use bullet train to travel to Kyoto.
  • Central Japan International Airport, Centrair (NGO)
    Some international flights are available. Airport express train and bullet train to Kyoto take up to 90 minutes.

Access to the venue

Kyoto Research Park building is located in the middle of Kyoto city.
It is accessible either by city railway or taxi.

Access by train
From Kyoto station, take a train on JR San-in (Sagano) line. 4 minutes ride and you will be stopping at Tambaguchi station. The conference site is 5 minutes on foot from Tambaguchi station.

Access by taxi
It takes approx. 10 minutes to the conference site. Note that it may take longer in case of traffic jam.
